House of Blues

I've been convinced not to paint my entire house the same shade of blue, but that didn't stop me from painting two rooms different shades of blue!

It's hard to tell here, but this color is actually Valspar "Novella Blue"

In several of the pictures, it came out looking very aqua-like

The view from the primed dining room..

See what I mean about aqua??  The dining room color is pretty accurate, though.  It's Valspar Blue Mist:

And I don't know if you've noticed yet.. but that couch should look very, very familiar.

Yup, it's THAT couch.  I bought it.  And not even off of Craigslist!  The table is from Craigslist though, formerly of Ikea.

I've been convinced by my Sweetie not to paint three adjoining rooms the same shade of blue.  I think he's right, but I'm still stuck on blue.  So, I went back to the gray blue for the living room, a silver blue for the dining room (which I intend to make very feminine/romantic) and turquoise for the kitchen.

I spent the evening packing and have a truck reserved for Sunday.  I'm nervous.  deep breath..

playing in SketchUp

I try to use online paint visualizing software, but the problem with it is, they only let you do one room at a time.  Maybe with a view into a hall of some kind.  My living room looks into my dining room which looks into my kitchen (which looks into a nook.)  Essentially, you end up seeing 4 spaces at once from the front door, 3 if I keep the nook the same as the rest of the kitchen.  Two rooms will not let me see how three or four colors will look next to each other.  So I tried it with sketchup.

I really want to paint my kitchen a bright turquoise, but that will never look good next to that gray blue I have my heart set on for the living room.  If my house doesn't end up looking like grandma's, or a thrift store, it might end up looking like the MAC eyeshadow display.  There are just too many colors to choose from..
